Phenomenal! HeyGears G1 Series Raises Nearly 50 Million Yuan on First Day of Crowdfunding – A New Desktop Full-Color 3D/UV Category Breaks Through

Consumer 3D printing has another hit—and this time it’s HeyGears.

According to 3Dzyk, Guangzhou HeyGears Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “HeyGears”) announced on July 25 the first-day crowdfunding results for its G1 full-color series on Kickstarter: approximately 50 million yuan (about $7.22 million USD). This ranks among the top first-day crowdfunding amounts in the 3D printing category and stands as the “strongest Day 1” for tech-creation crowdfunding since the start of the year.

And this marks the first crowdfunding campaign in HeyGears’ 11-year history.

As of press time, total crowdfunding has exceeded $8.13 million USD.

As the world’s first desktop full-color 3D and UV printer, the G1X’s biggest appeal lies in bringing industrial-grade full-color printing capabilities to the consumer market. Even more critically, it is priced at just over 20,000 yuan, while similar industrial-grade full-color equipment often costs several hundred thousand or even over a million yuan.

Industrial-grade capability at a consumer-grade price—that is the core of what makes the G1X resonate with users.

What Users Want Might Just Be a Full-Color Machine

If we look at the broader timeline, the crowdfunding history of 3D printers also reflects the evolution of the consumer 3D printing industry.

From Bambu Lab’s X1 driving the domination of multi-color printing, to Snapmaker’s U1 exploring multi-nozzle collaboration, and now HeyGears’ G1X entering the full-color printing space, one trend is becoming increasingly clear: color is emerging as a key direction for the next phase of consumer 3D printing

At the end of the day, from the very beginning, what users likely wanted was quite simple: faster printing, richer colors, and finished products that more closely resemble the final result. Now, with full-color technology maturing, this seemingly basic need is gradually becoming a reality.

And the HeyGears G1X is the latest product in this trend.

One Machine Unlocks Multi-Material and Full-Color Printing

The G1X is a desktop 3-in-1 full-color, multi-material printer that integrates 3D printing, UV printing, and texture printing. It can produce full-color models, flat color printing, three-dimensional textures, and fabric transfer, covering a wide range of cross-disciplinary creative scenarios.

It supports three material systems—UV resin, UV ink, and water-based ink—covering over 50 applications across 6 major categories, and is compatible with more than 400 types of substrates. Whether for DIY, miniature models, figurines, cultural and creative design, or industrial design and educational applications, everything can be accomplished on a single device.

Material costs are another key advantage of the G1X. Approximately 90% of HeyGears’ consumables are independently developed and manufactured, priced at about one-tenth to one-fifteenth of similar foreign products, further lowering the long-term usage barrier for individual users and small-to-medium enterprises.

This also alleviates the long-standing problem in full-color 3D printing: “You can afford the machine, but you can’t afford the materials.”

HeyGears Succeeded First for a Reason

Looking across the 3D printing market, it’s not uncommon to find companies that simultaneously pursue multiple technology pathways. What is rare, however, is a company that stays committed to a single track for the long term.

Bambu Lab and Snapmaker have long focused on FDM, while HeyGears has persisted in the photopolymerization field for 11 years. Therefore, HeyGears’ launch of a full-color 3D/UV printer is not surprising—it is not chasing a trend, but rather the result of long-term accumulation.

HeyGears told 3D Printing Resource Library that the company invests approximately 100 million yuan annually in R&D, and maintains full-stack in-house development of hardware, software, and materials, laying the technical foundation for the G1X.

Since 2022, HeyGears has been continuously developing its CP full-color printing technology. The CP01 in 2024 marked the first productization of this technology; the multi-material integrated denture in 2026 was the second implementation. With the G1X, HeyGears has further integrated the first two generations of technology and finally brought it to the consumer market.

Additionally, building on 11 years of supply chain expertise, HeyGears can not only develop products but also bring prices down. This is why many companies can produce similar full-color products, yet struggle to match the same price point.

Industrial-Grade Smart Manufacturing on One Hand, Consumer-Grade Full-Color on the Other

Founded in 2015, HeyGears has already established a strong foothold in the dental 3D printing sector. In the North American market, it holds the top share among Chinese dental 3D printing companies; in the domestic dental lab segment, its market share exceeds 60%.

After its dental business matured, HeyGears began extending its technology to industrial scenarios such as embodied robotics and consumer electronics.

Then came 2023—a pivotal turning point for HeyGears.

With the launch of the UltraCraft Reflex professional desktop 3D printer, the company began transitioning from B2B to B2C. The latest Reflex 2 series has also entered small-batch production scenarios for 3D-printed footwear.

With the launch of the G1 series, HeyGears’ “second growth curve”—centered on its self-developed Material Jetting technology and full-color 3D printing solutions—has officially entered the monetization phase.

▍Final Thoughts

Regardless of how you look at it, the era of full-color 3D printing has arrived.

As for how big this market could be—at least from the perspective of application boundaries, it is far from a small business, and could even grow into a hundred-billion-yuan market in the future.

The G1X marks a strong start.

However, to truly reach the mass market, pricing remains an unavoidable hurdle. So we posed this real-world question to Gui Peiyan, founder of HeyGears.

3Dzyk: Can the G1X’s price go even lower?

Gui Peiyan: At this stage, the G1X is primarily aimed at studios and professional creators who rely on 3D printing for commercial monetization. Moving forward, as production scale expands and the supply chain is further optimized, we will continue to reduce equipment costs. Our goal is to bring the machine price down to under 5,000 yuan, making full-color 3D printing truly accessible to ordinary households.

At the same time, we hope to reshape the mid-to-high-end consumer printing market within three years.

It must be said—from medical-grade dental to consumer-grade full-color, HeyGears’ path is broadening.

In the future, we may hear this name more and more often.
